Am I coming across a Bug?

Ok so I play D2 (USWest/L/SC) on 2 different computers. 1 is a new laptop and the other is a 12 year old computer. On the laptop when I play on hell difficulty my base resistance without any of my gear on is 20, no penalty's no torch, anni, etc. . .But when I play on my old computer my base resistance in Hell is in the negatives like it normally should. Both computers use the same installed game, no mods, no hacks.

If someone could give me an idea on why this is so strange I'd really appreciate it.|||Are you accessing the same characters on both computers, or two different ones? Can you take a screenshot on the laptop to give us an idea of what it looks like?|||It's the same character on both computers(not at the same tine of course).

Proof of Hell diff.

No gear but still 20 base all resists.

Here's from the other computer:

Now on the other computer all the base stats will be in the negatives like it should be.|||Could you post a screenshot of the 20@ situation with only the stat screen open? So we can see its actually hell|||The only explanation I could think of is that you were in Normal difficulty with the first stats screenshot. I don't see why you would want to trick us though so I guess it's just a weird glitch? :S|||What would be the point of me tricking you guys when I do need help.

Here's the stats + Hell.

Maybe this works:

Do a quest in hell which gives you an item to use for something. You haven't finished the Anya quest in hell yet (else resists would be -70 and not -80), so we know you could do that with the resist scroll from Malah. You can also use something from a lower difficulty, let's say the Horadric Staff. Don't use that item yet. Then drop everyrthing, including charms, open the character screen and the inventory screen and move the mouse cursor over the item. Then make a screenshot. AFAIK, If the item text is red, you aren't in hell mode. That might not happen with Meph's Soulstone, so take tomething else.

Anyway, if there is a bug, it's just with the character screen, as the bnet server decides about your resists.|||Quote:

I assure you that I'm not playing any kind of prank. Why do something as stupid and childish, waste my time, and all of your time. All I'm trying to do is get some help. I'll do what you suggested.|||This probably sounds really mean and I'm pretty sure that you didn't do it on purpose but could you take the He'll difficulty stats screenshot without the inventory screen and without the poison damage please? Just to make sure. Anyways in any case it should be fine, as long as you have the proper resists, the stats screen is just lying to you.
