Diablo 2, is it still hot?

been gone for a while now. Ladder started in March, I was wondering when will it end, because i heard something about 6 months. So it should end in September, anyone else heard of this?

Im on holiday entire August, so it is pointless for me to start now, but if itll start soon Im in. Anyone got a clue on whether or not September its going to happen?

Also.. how is the popularity? I noticed the spam bots have gotten even worse. If you open a game, you can count on a nice constant screen spam. Extremelly horrible. Are there still a lot of players playing the game?

It seems that mostly the hell games are botchannels -.-|||I would be very surprised if the D2 ladder was ever reset again. By the time the 6month mark hits in September, we should be well into the D3 beta.

There are still a lot of people playing SC ladder but the bots are ridiculous. If you dont make a private game (or public with level restrictions) then be prepared to have ur game constantly flooded with spam.

I tried to play HC ladder the other day and its absolutely dead. I saw maybe a dozen games open in norm.|||I'm pretty sure they will reset the ladder normally around 28th September. It will be the last ladder before D3, so it might as well go with a boom. I wouldn't be too surprised if they made a final D2 patch for it to suck diablo fans back in.|||No matter how good D3 might be I really hope that D2 non ladder lives on.|||What seems to be Blizzard's general approach on games in their twilight, with a sequel on its way? I never got into other Blizzard games much, so I have no clue, but they must've shown some pattern on whether they abandon a game once a sequel is imminent, or they do a drastic patch as a last-minute enticing of fans.|||After that will they stop with the 6 months resets? Because those are REALLY annoying. I dont have enough time to play Diablo and be wealthy in 6 months time. Some people have jobs ffs|||Quote:

Then play non-ladder.

The whole point of the ladder was to reset it.|||Quote:

You can still play Starcraft 1 and Diablo 1 on bnet. Starcraft... well OK, half of Korea plays it, but Diablo 1 is from 1997. I don't think that many game producers support their games for that long, in particular if the online option is free of charge.

The Diablo gamers from 10 years ago probably earn a bit money now, so if you can keep them happy, it will pay off in the long term. And their children - they grow up so quickly!|||i personally hope that they reset again in september or whenever it is and then just leave a ladder running forever and a nonladder permanently running alongside it, with a new patch added as an extra, but will this happen? i doubt it...|||The ladder resets every 6 months, which ironically, seems to have killed off what they hadn't killed by not resetting it.

It's just too fast.
