I prefer to do things on my own in d2, and i was wondering if it is possible to do the pandemonium quest for torch alone? I already have the keys i need just need to make the portals and beat the bosses. I plan on attempting this with my summon necromancer. He is level 82, and I'll list his gear so you have an idea of what I'm workin with.
Helm:Shako
Armor:Trangs scales
Boots:Marrowwalks
Rings:2 bul kathos
Ammy:Mara
Gloves:Trangs claws
Shield:Homunculus socketed w/ um
Weapon:Arm of king leoric
Belt:Verdungos hearty cord mithril coil
As for skills, I've put basically everything into my summoning tree except a couple points into corpse explosion and 1 into a few curses. I can handle act 5 of hell mode decently but I've never done this pandemonium quest before so i don't know how it compares to act5 hell.
Anyway what do u guys think can i do it alone successfully or will it be a waste of keys?|||If you do manage to pull it off, it will be brutally difficult.
the andy clone will be the hardest of the organ bosses, her poison will probably kill all of your summons off almost immediately. Your merc might be able to kill her if he has good gear (andy's face for sure)
you'll be using lifetap instead of amp or decrep, which means you'll need an item with teleport charges to get past physical immunes (or really, to get past everything anyway)
but the real problem will be once you get the organs and actually try to do the pandemonium event. Meph's conviction is just going to destroy your army. I really can't see how you'll get around that.
People who want to solo the event generally use paladins (mostly smiters, but dreamers and fanatics can do it too)|||The most fun I ever had with the pandemonium event was (obviously I suppose) my first time. I did it with a friend, my tesladin (too poor for a dreamer) and my friend's skellemancer.
We didn't have any trouble with the organ bosses, but of course mephisto killed us like 20 times before we got him. I think I went to mules to get full rejuvs 5 or 6 times.
Tesladin actually didn't turn out to be that bad for it though, I had a g's face for crushing, and the 1 point in smite as a pre-req, which is really all you need, and then maxed salvation aura as a holy shock synergy, so I used that to counter conviction (not as good as over-writing with your own conviction, but good enough).
My friend's necro kept lifetap up on everything, and thanks to my salv his army stayed alive to spite the conviction. It was a blast. I highly recommend doing it your first time with somebody else for whom it is also the first time. The dying a lot and figuring out how to make it work is most of the fun.|||I have only done it once, and that was in HC, and solo(ish )
I used my Singer or bowzon to clear the 3 organ areas, then came back with my avenger to kill the bosses, and BO'ed my paladin with the Singer.
Uber trist was scary, especially not having done it before, and it was HC on top of it. He used 1 pt smite to get them largely damaged, then went to town with vengeance. I also used my enchantress to boost his damage, and of course tge singer BO'ed him. Doing it solo in HC was my last real goal for HC Bnet, and I have since moved to SP. But it was one of the most satisfying things I have done in the game.
A fishymancer can do it, but only with really uber gear I think.|||Well, it can be done solo but it will be very difficult and u have to have uber gear.
For strategy see this vid: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W4DxnVVrmok|||It's going to be insanly difficult to pull it off, your summons will be destroyed so fast, and you will definatly need an item that gives teleports.|||You guys are all smoking something. Summonmancers are some of the best uber runners out there that stand toe to toe with kicksins and smiters. they key is not in your skellies, but rather your revives.
Revive Uradars! they have natural Crushing Blow, which goes a loooooooong way towards pummeling the ubers. Also, they have an ungodly amount of life if you max revive, and as long as you lifetap and/or decrep, they will stay alive for the full duration.
My smiter has having problems with andy, so I logged on to my summoner, rounded up about 10 Uradar revives, and took andy down in about 30 seconds.
The only requirement really is to get teleport. Enigma is best, but a tele ammy or staff is a minimum requirement to position all the revives to hit.|||hmm most of you think I can't do it, but 1 person seems to think so. I don't have my revives maxed i think i only put 5 points or so into them, but with my +skills i can still have like 17 or 18 of them. Would you say it's worth it to max revives? I thought that points into the skill only gave you more mosters u can revive, and skeleton mastery is what actually makes them stronger.
I think I'm gona just try to find a group to do this with. I've never done these quests before, so even if it is possible for me to do this I might fail anyway. maybe I'll use some keys to open a portal just to see what happens lol.|||if you have problems, send me a pm, and i'll help.|||ive done it with lvl 86 summon necro. and merc wasnt really as issue as he dies often even with the best gear. as Asrrin suggested, you have to use udars and such. the crushing blow is the key, and really the only chance a summon nec has. my nec used enigma so i could easily tele on top of boss, i cant imagine without it, the uber trist bosses' summons just make your army wander and you have to keep refocusing them onto boss, and with only 3 minutes for revive, you cant waste time lol.
i havent done without enigma armor before (with nec that is) so i look forward to your update. i only play hc, which is twice the thrill , uber mephy is by far the hardest and all of my uber deaths in hc have been to him. just make sure to go around the town up and to the left then down, i take the bosses out one at a time.
good luck!
